SpaceShare Green Travel -- carpool, community building
SpaceShare Green Travel builds ride- and room-share tools for festivals and conferences. Our sister effort Verdant Event builds complete websites for conferences with greening tools integrated.
Two images on front page (I don't like the ones we have too much):
1. Primary message: Planning (microphones in front of empty seats is how a planner might see a conference).
2. Primary message: Attendees.
Secondary:
A) we want to imply conferences on the planner side and festivities/festivals on the travelers side. If we use more than one image, it might be nice to pair them, but can flip this order: festival planners, conference attendees.
B) one of the images should imply some of SpaceShare's approach to greening, when possible -- people meeting, carpooling, something along those lines.
C) they should imply greening (the rideboard one currently does, the microphones do not)
Options:
1 - more photos. Have the background photos rotate.
A) someone should search the free sites more thoroughly -- no more time spent on non-thorough searches please (searching a particular site for photos and not saying whether you did a good thorough search, so someone else looks at the same photos later)
B) Combo outreach and photo search -- find news articles and companies that we like, and ask for permission to use photos and link to the sites... should be very easy, it's a big favor for them. Use this to create connections... we start with a favor, then see if they will link to us later.
2 - graphic images instead of photos? *** Very likely, pairing with Erin's GEGGrphcStory is a good idea. Another option is to use the GEGGrphcStory image as a replacement for the logo (or use the logo for the GEGGrphcStory)
Overlap with SpaceShare? I don't think it's important, though it doesn't hurt -- this is still open to brainstorming. (At most we should reuse one image on both front pages, to avoid making it look too much like the same site.)
The Logo
eh.
